Custom Ray Trace Models

Custom ray trace models can provide irradiance profiles in terms of individual solar cell junction currents in the presence of real-world conditions (finite sun size, full solar spectrum, chromatic aberrations, sun-pointing errors, slope errors, deflections, displacements, etc.). An example ray trace analysis for a 500X color-mixing, symmetrical-refraction, dome-shaped Fresnel lens focusing onto a multi-junction solar cell surrounded by reflective "wings" (front "wing" removed to show rays) when a 0.5 degree sun-pointing error is present is shown below:
